About Us
Our headquarters is Dharma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara. It is located in Los Angeles, California, USA. Dharma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara has been supporting Sri Lanka for many years. The Abbot of Dharma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara, Aggamaha Pandith, Dr. Walpola Piyananda is the leader for all those services. Venerable Kalabululande Dhammajothi is one of the secretaries for Dharma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara, and he is the president of the Sunday School. His own temple is in Pundalu - Oya town, in Kothmale city, in Nuwara Eliya district, Sri Lanka. “Pihita Foundation” is run by his temple, Sri Meghananda Viharaya. In 2013, we started a scholarship program for the students who live in rural areas in Sri Lanka. Now, we have expanded our mission in many different ways under the Pihita Foundation, and all the services are run by Sri Meghananda Viharaya.
Our Mission
Pihita Foundation was created to support our motherland, Sri Lanka. In 2013, we started our mission by providing scholarships for students who live in rural areas in Sri Lanka. Now, our services have expanded into the areas mentioned below.
- Providing scholarships, technology, and school supplies for students in rural areas
- Senior monk’s nursing home: Sri Pemananda Senior center (SPSC)
- Housing project - We build houses for those in need of housing
- Supporting the young generation to self-start their own businesses .
